What...A New Kitchen Before Thanksgiving? - Ozarks Remodeling & Design

Let’s talk about how one might get a new kitchen for Thanksgiving. This family-gathering holiday filled with delicious aromas, heartfelt conversations, and the inevitable nap or two.

The Design Stage

For some, just thinking about remodeling a kitchen can seem a bit overwhelming. Questions spring up, a massive overload of what-ifs edge to the forefront of your mind, and it can sometimes lead to a bit of confusion. At Ozarks Remodeling and Design, we know this, which is why we offer a free kitchen design consultation to get your thoughts in order and allow you the opportunities to get your ideas and wishes on paper.

When you first schedule a meeting with Ozarks Remodeling, one of the first things we will discuss is your budget. This is the most important topic and one that some shy away from. However, the truth is, our goal is to help you get the kitchen you will absolutely love and stay on budget or even better, beat your budget and spend less!

We will take a look at several different designs, styles, as well as the many cabinet door styles, along with the different cabinet lines available for your project. We can help guide you in finding top quality cabinets at the best possible price in our local area.

Measurements

During our initial consultation, it’s a good idea to have at least a rough idea of what you’d like. If you can manage it, even a simple sketch of what you envision is helpful. It is also very helpful to share favorite kitchen images from Pinterest or Instagram. Color swatches or sample backsplash tile is also helpful.

Again, we want your time with us to be a free-flowing one, and having a general outline to work with will no doubt speed up the process. In any case, measurements will be needed to be done by us to ensure accuracy. An eighth of an inch off, and you’ll see the entire project fold in on itself.

Design Completion

Once all of the measurements are in and secure, we can begin the design! It’s an exciting time, for sure, to have your dream kitchen design come to life on paper.

All of the hard work, heavy coordination, and measurements summed up to a pretty clear picture of what your kitchen is going to look like.

Kitchen Remodel Installation

Getting down to the nitty-gritty now, aren’t we?

The installation process is one with many variables as far as time goes, I’ll be honest. Our team will be in stay in contact with you while awaiting your cabinet order to be delivered. Once they are delivered, we can schedule your installation soon after.

You do not need to be there for the entire process. Once we arrive, you can be confident that our team will get straight to work on your installation.

Cabinet Installation:

The cabinet installation typically takes about 2 days, depending on the size of your new kitchen. Also, if you have any questions during these phases, you can 100% ask any questions you have and we’ll make sure we answer them to your complete satisfaction.

Countertop Templating:

When all of your cabinets have been properly installed, we can now begin to template your countertops. Sometimes homeowners are confused as to why countertops cannot be ordered ahead of time. The reason is this. Countertop measurements MUST be absolutely precise. Even a fraction of an inch off could lead to a big problem such as a countertop not sitting flush on your cabinets. It’s definitely worth the wait!

This process could take up to 2 weeks, depending on which countertop material you’ve selected. It’s also important to note that in order for your countertops to be templated, your sinks and faucets need to be in your possession for precise measurement. Again, accuracy is key during all of this.

Countertop Installation:

Once your template is completed, it’s time to install the countertops! Now, typically, an in-stock granite can be installed within one week. Custom countertops can take anywhere from 10 days to 4 weeks. It just depends on the countertop material you choose and how long the lead-time estimate you’ve been given by the manufacturer or retail store where you purchased your products. However, as your remodeling contractor, we will stay in close contact with you to help make this delay as short as possible because the clock is ticking…and you have a Thanksgiving meal to prepare!

Also, be prepared to live without countertops for a short time. If you can, set up a temporary kitchen, a little kitchenette if you will. This will eliminate the stress of having to eat out every night, too.

Backsplash installation:

This is a pretty simple install and should only take a couple of days!   After all of the installs are finished to your satisfaction, you can sit back and smile, gazing at your new kitchen.  It’s finished, and now you can enjoy your brand new kitchen.
